Alex was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and it was there that he began his acting career. Professionally, Alex made his stage debut at the age of thirteen in a local murder mystery dinner theatre. But, if you ask his parents, his career began much earlier when he would recite from memory an entire Winnie the Pooh movie from start to finish, with the appropriate voices mind you.
His first exposure to the stage was his cousins high school production of 42nd Street. Something happened during that production. Alex was enthralled with the magic and the spectacle of it all. He couldn't help but feel drawn to the stage. He didn't know it then, but this would be the start of a remarkable journey.
Alex continued his pursuit of the arts in Kansas City. There he trained in acting and voice under various teachers. A student at the Coterie School, Alex received hands on acting and improv training. He also took voice lessons at his school and privately with local voice teachers in the area.
He attended Oak Park High School and performed in several productions, including The Yellow Boat, Steel Magnolias, Hairspray, and Oscar and Felix. It was there that Alex trained with vocal coach Chris Drogemeuller until he graduated and went on to Missouri State University.
As a Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Acting at MSU, Alex studied Voice and Movement with Maggie Marlin-Hess and Acting with Kurt Heinlein and Sarah Wiggin, as well as Shakespeare. Through the careful guidance of his university Alex has also had opportunities to study with Kyle Dean Massey, Joey Contreras, and Natalie Wiess.
While attending MSU, Alex performed in City of Angels, Tartuffe, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and most recently Uncle Vanya. Alex also took part in numerous scene studies and various workshops, both on and off camera based.
Alex obtained his BFA in Acting at the conclusion of the 2016 school year. The recipient of the John Goodman Scholarship, an award obtained by a student who intends to further their performance career whom is chosen by the faculty, Alex moved to New York in September 2016,
